Helicopter Association International members are encouraged to submit feature and opinion articles to ROTOR magazine. Items submitted may be considered if suitable for distribution. 

We encourage all HAI members to submit articles for publication. Articles are evaluated on the following criteria: writing style, readability, appropriate length, clarity of presentation, and appropriateness of subject for the civil helicopter industry and ROTOR magazine. Articles published in ROTOR magazine should be informative in nature. The Editor of ROTOR magazine reserves the right to decline publishing any submission, and to edit submitted items. Unlike for-profit commercial publications, ROTOR cannot offer payment for articles or pictures. Please read HAI's Submission Policy and Copyright Policy.

When submitting a feature, maintain a 1,000 to 2,000 word count. Contributors may send submissions by postal mail, by e-mail, or by submitting to rotor@rotor.com. Articles should be typed and double-spaced with a title page that includes the article title and word count, your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. Please provide caption, photo credit line, and printing permission for all supporting photos.

If you are submitting your copy through postal mail, manuscripts should be accompanied by an electronic version on a PC-formatted CD, preferably in Microsoft Word. If you would like to have your manuscript returned, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your submission. If you are e-mailing the article, paste it directly into your e-mail message and also include it as an attachment. Graphics and pictures may be sent as e-mail attachments or may also be sent in the form of a CD, sent to HAI by postal mail.

1. Contact information - home and work
2. Submitting person's name along with his/her organization/company information
3. Category of article
4. Title of article
5. E-mail address is needed in order to submit copy!
6. Article (saved as a Word document) as an attachment and include a copy of the text in your e-mail message.
7. An optional section to include "bio" information and contact information, if the person submitting would like to have that information publicized.
8. Pictures and graphics must be accompanied with photo credits and permission to be published in ROTOR magazine.
9. Please include, if the article has previously been published elsewhere or if it has been sent to other magazines for publication consideration. If so, HAI requires a right of first use, in order to be considered for publication in ROTOR magazine.
